Many police forces set aside valuable office space and resources as a contingency towards the advent of major incidents and the necessity to set up major incident rooms or casualty bureaux locally. Other forces strapped for accommodation and resources are forced to make ad hoc and temporary arrangements to try to cope with the above scenario.

As an alternative, our solution is to fit out and equip fully, a HOLMES 2 major incident room (or casualty bureau) which is capable of being rapidly deployed to any location.

The benefits to a force include:

Savings in the cost of setting aside valuable police real estate at strategic locations throughout the force area.
Saving in staff time and travelling expenses by the ability to locate the MIR in the most advantageous location for current incident/investigation.
Flexibility in response to demand.
The ability to bring key roles in the incident room as near to the investigation as possible.

The flexibility of this concept also allows for the best return on investment. Whilst not engaged in the primary task in response to an incident, the unit can be deployed in a variety of other roles i.e:

Training - the ability to take the classroom to the student will enable savings to be made in the costs of training.
Communications - depending upon the equipment fit, the unit can be used in any role for which there is a communications or IT requirement.

The standard configuration can be adapted with a range of options to suit all needs and budgets. In particular we have experience of satellite communication systems ranging from broadband to secure corporate networks and installation of IT and audio visual systems.
