FAME Commercials Limited - Suffolk Fire Services Fire Awareness Unit
Taken to all the Suffolk schools to make children aware of the hazards of fire in the home and in their own bedrooms.
The vehicle has been fitted out as a childs bedroom with bed, bedside cabinet, television, posters on the walls etc.
The Suffolk Fire operator plays a CD which simulates the initial call to the emergency services to report a fire and then runs through the whole sequence of the different fire hazards in the bedroom including:
- A firewall and ceiling with smoke simulation
- An overloaded electrical socket
- The T.V., on fire and smoking
- The hazards of a drinks can left on an electric fire
- A candle too near a curtain
- A teddy left on a bedside lamp
- Smoke machines and glowing lamps
The bedroom window shows a blue flashing emergency light and a ladder to simulate when the fire service arrives.
There is a projector and screen for showing films and a laptop computer with keyboard and a video player.
