B-MAC has been built with the aim of making the Housing & Council Tax Benefits Service easier to access. Visiting different locations throughout Wyre Borough on a regular basis and staffed by trained advisors who will be able to offer advice and assistance to new and existing customers.

B-MAC is equipped with the latest satellite technology allowing instant access to the civic centre benefits software systems from remote locations. This means that new claims and changes in circumstances can be processed whilst the customer waits, thus providing a much better service. B-MAC will also be used to encourage partnership working with other welfare organisations, including the Pension Service.

The vehicle includes a small waiting area, 4 desks, 1 of which accommodates a disabled wheelchair and a hearing loop is also fitted. Computer sockets are surge protected and a UPS is fitted in case of power failure. A 'weatherproof' glass door is fitted to the main entrance so that the external door can remain open at all times but retaining the right working environment for the personnel.
